November 11 developers, programmers, experts in business, retail trade experts, designers and marketing specialists will be able to take part in the first IKEA Centres Russia Hackathon.


The participants of Hakaton will be challenged by the task to offer ideas on MEGA mobile application functionality improvement for iPhone and Android.


Teams registered on the site www.mega-startup.ru areinvited for participation in MEGAthon 2015. Every team has to have a member with education or experience in the IT sphere.


Mobile app Mega App waslaunched in 2014. The application gathers as much information as necessary for a comfortable shopping experience. There you can see all the stores, find out their locations, all special offers and create your own shopping lists. Mega App team does not stop and wants to make it better, more convenient and innovative!


"It is very important for us to provide the guests of our shopping centers with actual information in time and to turn process of shopping into a fascinating travel full of new discoveries. The MEGA mobile application serves as implementation of this task. We hope that participants of the Hackathon will offer new innovative ideas for its improvement", said Armin Michaely, General Director of IKEA Centers Russia.


An expert jury will do the selection of winners.The winning idea will be brought into life and the team, created this idea, will receive a cash prize of 200 000 rubles.

IKEA Centres Russia, part of IKEA Group, has developed its chain of shopping centres under the brand name MEGA, throughout Russia.
